It's the season of Advent, Pope Benedict has called us to accept the gift of grace and to live the theological virtue of hope, and yet we are preoccupied by perpetual fear of terrorism, foreign dictators, children's books, presidential candidates, and a host of other frightful threats. I'm no stranger to this culture of fear, and that scares me.
