Is this experience of fatherhood in any way akin to the fatherhood of God, who loves and weeps for his children?

I think so.

It seems wrong somehow that I should be comforted by something written by someone in far more need of comfort than I, but I was. So, thank you.

You will be a good father to Vivian. Sometimes, I wish God would fix all our hurts in life.I also realize that that is not realistic either. But, I also think that the struggles that happen in our lives help to define us and make us grow stronger. God is with you and your family while you go through this life changing experience. I think having struggles in life can give a person a greater perspective on "life" and its various issues also. God Bless on this Fathers Day!!!!
